Hello ! My name is Kristy and I am the owner of the salon. After working at a couple salons in the past, I have noticed a large gap in education and customer service in the nail industry. My goal was to create a modern and friendly space where our clients and team members can feel safe & relaxed, while at the same time be educated in the process of meticulous manicures.
I have a bachelor of arts degree in Health studies from McMaster University, so I am particularly aware of the health and safety practises that are required in a nail salon. I also studied at Looks Private Academy where I learned all about nails, from the scientific health aspect to the performance of nail procedures. I have taken courses and have been certified by CND and BIOSEAWEED educators. I am a firm believer that you can never have too much education so I am always trying to keep myself updated within the beauty industry.
As a young kid to my teens, I’ve always loved practising nail art and doing my family and friend’s nails. I never thought of opening my own salon and doing this as a career at the time. However, my father is also a salon owner and I was highly influenced by him.
He encouraged that I pursue something that I would truly enjoy doing, so he helped me through this whole process, from finding the location to the renovations. I am truly blessed to have such an inspirational figure help me through this process, along with my wonderful team who can hold down the salon even when I’m not there. Allure Nail Bar would not be the same without our wonderful girls!
My favorite thing about being a nail artist is being able to do what I love everyday, playing around with different colours and nail art pieces, and transforming plain fingernails into something super trendy and beautiful.
HEY! My name is Jasmine, and I’ve been a nail technician at Allure since October 2016. My entire childhood was spent dreaming of becoming a veterinarian until one day I realized I’m far too squeamish to deal with the ins and outs of that profession and that was the end of that. I didn’t think this was the career I’d end up in, but nails have always been something I’ve had a passion for.
I remember being 13 and my dad taking me to get my first set of acrylic nails. They were HORRENDOUS, but somehow, that day at the nail salon sparked something in me that would eventually lead me to where I am today. I quickly became obsessed with having my nails done at all times. The longer the better, and the more outrageous the design, bring it on. Can’t say much has changed since then, except now, I get to do them myself.
While pregnant in 2011 and after giving birth to my son in 2012, I stopped doing my nails to focus on what I thought were more important things. I attended both Sheridan And Humber College, dabbling in Media Arts, General Arts & Science, and Athletic Leadership. None of which seemed to fit my personality and interests. So, I decided to try my hand at channeling my creativity in a way I always enjoyed.
I followed tons of nail artists on Instagram and watched tutorials on YouTube for hours, beginning the process of perfecting my craft. Using my nails as a means to express myself became my thing and the long hours of tedious attention to detail turned out to be therapeutic and fulfilling. Eventually, just doing my own nails with regular nail polish became a bore, so I took the next step and went to beauty school to become a certified nail technician. I attended Body Pro Advanced Aesthetics Academy and became officially certified in July of 2016, joining the Allure team shortly after.
After years of bouncing back and forth between my two jobs and doing nails on the side, I took the leap and became a nail tech full time at Allure in July of 2019. I couldn’t be happier with my decision! Work doesn’t feel like WORK anymore and working with an awesome and talented group of girls doesn’t hurt the situation much either :)
I pride myself on continuing to educate myself and always giving my best effort to provide clients with nails they can look at and love for weeks. At the end of the day, the most rewarding part of my job, is seeing my clients’ faces light up after seeing mini masterpieces come to life on their tiny canvases!
Hello! My name is Victoria :) I’m the operating manager and a nail technician at Allure since the Summer of 2017. I was a teacher for a few years and yearned for a more creative path. My patience and attention-to-detail as an educator were key skills that eased me into my next career.
When I was young, I only saw nails as a hobby, but once given an opportunity at Allure, it felt right. I worked with Kristy part-time until I made the huge leap of moving cities and completely changing my career. I took courses from the Nails R Us company like the Magic Gel Systems. I am experienced with artificial nails, nail art, natural nail treatments and a proud advocate in creating a healthy nail routine that works for all my lovely clients. I am constantly challenging myself with new trends and tricks in the nail industry. I especially love surprising clients with my nail art and knowledge.
My bubbly personality and artistic skills shine when I’m at Allure. I’m happier than ever, especially with a team I love and adore. It’s funny how people say, “choose a job you love, and you’ll never have to work a day in your life”— because I think I found it.
Hi! My name is Jean :) I’ve been working at Allure as a nail technician since February of 2018. I specialize in gel extensions/overlays & I LOVE creating or recreating intricate nail art. (Most times, my clients will bring in an inspiration pic, and I’ll add my own twist to it :P I’m always up for a challenge!).
I’ve been in the nail industry for more than 10 years and I love every part of it. I was always super creative and artistic growing up, so Ive always been passionate about nails. I worked part-time throughout high school/college and full-time every summer break at a nail salon. After graduating at Conestoga College in Health Office Administration, I worked in the field for about a year and realized I wasn’t happy doing that type of work everyday. I quickly came to realize and went back to doing what I TRULY loved, and that was being able to express my artistic side through nails :)
My favourite part about being a nail technician here at Allure would have to be the amount of clients, old or new that completely trusts us to take care of their nails and allow us to have them walking out feeling like a new person! It’s the best feeling in the world to me, when you’re able to provide a service for someone that can make them smile and feel happy, even if it’s just the idea of having beautiful nails.
On top of everything, I found my forever home where I can be my weird self and wake up excited to work with my awesome team & work family at Allure. ❤
Hi everyone, my name is Ashley :) I’m a mother, wife and nail fanatic! I’ve always had a passion for this art ever since I could remember. I used to go buy the “do it at home” acrylic kits from Walmart. As I attempted to learn on my family and friends, I just knew immediately that this was what I wanted to do as my career.
Once I finished high school I quickly enrolled in Body Pro Advanced Aesthetics Academy. I graduated with honours as a nail technician and advanced aesthetician. I won best aesthetician in Halton in 2015. I started my professional career in Milton in 2013 and here we are 6 years later... I still LOVE my job! I had a one year off for my maternity leave and was utterly missing making people feel beautiful. Everyone who knows me knows I’m obsessed with my daughter and being a mother but I also love being a nail technician. I was eager to get back to work after mat leave and that’s when I found Allure.
I cannot be more happy with my job and the amazing women that I work with! I am truly blessed to work in such a great environment. We can all learn, work and have fun together. I really don’t think there is any other nail bar or salon that has the same awesome vibes that allure does.
Every part of my job I honestly love, from the painting, to the nail art, and even getting a clean cuticle. As of recently I’ve found a new passion in nail sculpting (extensions). All in all, I just want everyone of my clients that come to see me leave feeling beautiful, special and pampered.
Hi, my name is Sawa :) I've been working at Allure since May 2018. I grew up in Japan and came to Canada in July of 2014. I was a volleyball player since I was 8 years old, until I came to Canada. I didn't have the freedom to enjoy my life like other regular teenagers, so I decided to move here.
As an athlete, my life was far away from anything in the beauty industry. But doing nails for other people was always something I loved to do since I couldn't do anything on myself. When I thought about what I wanted to do in the future, it was an easy choice...doing nails! Just wanting to do nails wasn't good enough to work on clients, so I decided to go back to Japan and attend nail school in Osaka.
My favorite part about being a nail technician is obviously when a client leaves the salon happier than when they came in! I love learning and love to do Japanese style nail art!! Whenever I have free time, I’m always checking out new and popular trends on Instagram or YouTube. If there is a design you want, don’t be afraid to ask me! I love a challenge and experimenting with new styles!
When I’m speaking in Japanese, people call me a radio because I don’t stop talking, but with English as a new language to me, sometimes I get very shy. But please don’t be shy to talk to me about anything. I'll be ok, plus it’s a free English lesson for me!
Working at Allure Nail Bar has been the best decision I've ever made! All the girls treat each other, including me, like family :). Before I found this place, going to work was always stessful for me. But ever since I found Allure, I NEVER have to stress about coming to work, I actually look forward to it! That's how much I love what I'm doing and how much I love this team!💜
